CNU Masscom students organize fashion show

THE fourth year Mass Communication students of Cebu Normal University (CNU) organized a fashion show at the Samuel McClintock hall of CNU last Sept. 22.

The fashion show was a requirement for their advertising and public information subject.

The program started with the invocation by CNU chorale, followed by the opening remarks from subject teacher Lyster Ramos.

The class was divided into four groups, and each group presented their own 30-minute segment, which is to find a client through television and radio advertisements and integrated marketing business.

FEATURED STORIES

Foot forward, whose client was 6000 Promotion and Store, opened the fashion show as the first presenters. They were followed by Commedia, which convinced their client Superstar; Promotech, which advertised for i-Tees; and Ideal Solutions, whose client was La Mode Fashion.

Foot forward won best in radio ad, while Promotech won best in print ad, best in television ad and best in integrated marketing business.

They created a big audience impact after having Borgie Cabigas, ABS-CBN’s Mag TV Na host, as their guest model.

Chemvie Fabroa, a senior Masscom student, said the fashion show aimed “to promote products to customers.”

The activity helped the students expose their talents and skills in marketing and sales.

“I know I have a lot to offer, especially my skills, which I hope would be developed soon,” said John Granada, a third year Mass Communication student who volunteered to do the hair and make-up for the models of the fashion show.

Ramos said the program had shown the importance of advertising to everyone. It emphasizes advertising as a strategy of marketing. “Advertising is not just an art, it’s a business of selling,” she added. /UP Masscom student Chennie Marie Montero
