Busa, Tutor win in World Heart Day run

ALVIRG BUSA and Christy Sevellino Tutor topped the 15-kilometer open category of the World Heart Day Run yesterday at the Ayala Center Cebu’s The Terraces.

Busa clocked 52 minutes and 55 seconds to win the men’s crown while Tutor finished in 1:09:27 to win the women’s title.

Robert Daang finished second in the men’s side with a time of 52 minutes and 59 seconds while University of Southern Philippines-Foundation’s (USP-F) Joel Delposo claimed third spot, clocking 53 minutes and 59 seconds.

Mary Jane Beboso wound up second to Tutor with  a time of 1 hour 11 minutes and 12 seconds while Merlita Arias Dunkin clocked 1 hour 17 minutes and 23 seconds for third place.

FEATURED STORIES

Jess Gonzaga won the 8k open men’s category in 30 minutes and 46 seconds while Lovely Andrin topped the distaff side with a time of 32 minutes and 58 seconds.

Ruth Banzon (34:00) and Nilo Famulagan (38:19) finished second and third, respectively.

Aiza Suaybaguio (34:17) and Marichu Luterte (35:00) were second and third, respectively in the women’s 8k side.

Cherry Andrin (11:23) and Narky Lucero (10:10)topped the 3k kiddies category.

Meanwhile, Nonoy Zapata and Janet Legazpi ruled the 15k pharmaecutical representative category. Zapata clocked 01:25:23 while Legazpi timed 01:27:10.

Dr. Sheymour Andres Senorin lorded the 15k doctors category while Dr. Maria Sosan Trani claimed the top spot women’s side./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
