MANILA, Philippines – Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. has arrived at the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig after the Sandiganbayan allowed him to undergo medical tests overnight.
In a coaster accompanied with police vehicles, Revilla left his detention bungalow at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center at 4 p.m., according to spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wilben Mayor.
Mayor said the convoy was composed of 20 police non-commissioned officers with back-up vehicles from the Southern Police District, PNP Highway Patrol Group and an ambulance from the PNP General Hospital.
The Sandiganbayan First Division allowed Revilla to stay in St. Luke’s only from 6 p.m. until Tuesday, November 18 at 12 p.m.
Revilla will undergo a series of medical tests including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance angiogram of the brain, plain lumbosacral MRI, cardiac work-up, electrocardiography and 2D-Echo, stress test and blood chemistry.
Revilla was diagnosed to have the following medical problems: migraine headache, lumbo-sacral radiculopathy secondary to spondylosis, hypertension not well-controlled, and dyslipidemia.
With Revilla at the PNP Custodial Center is senator and his co-accused Jinggoy Estrada while Senator Juan Ponce Enrile is detained at the PNP General Hospital.
The three senators have been charged with plunder for allegedly pocketing commissions from businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles’ ghost projects.
