MANILA, Philippines—Malacañang on Friday praised its ally, Senate President Franklin Drilon, for facing his colleagues and directly responding to the allegations against him in connection with the allegedly overpriced Iloilo Convention Center but left it up to Vice President Jejomar Binay to decide if he should do the same to clear his name.

But Lacierda said it would be up to the Vice President “to decide whether he should follow the example of Senate President Franklin Drilon.”
