The luggage, according to Makati Police Sub-Station 6 commander Chief Insp. Carlo Caceres, was dumped at around 4 a.m. by two Chinese-looking women caught by a security camera at a nearby establishment alighting from a taxicab and dragging the suitcase to the street corner.
The police officer said that the two women casually walked away from the scene after leaving the suitcase.
Area resident Virginia Flores told the authorities that she was walking along the street when she spotted the suspicious-looking suitcase and reported it to Bantay Bayan watchman Angelito Villar.
Caceres said that when Villar opened the suitcase he found the decomposing body stuffed and wrapped with plastic and covered with a bed sheet and charcoal.
Investigators noted that they found a bag tag on the suitcase with a name and a contact number but said the number could not be contacted.
Caceres said investigators were studying the CCTV footage to identify the women who dumped the body. The police said they still investigating the matter and trying to identity of the victim.
