PNP acquires over 200 new personnel carriers

IMG_20141113_165454MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police (PNP) has acquired more than 200 units of 4 x 4 light personnel carriers after it recently awarded the contract to two winning car firms.

In the four-page supply contract, Deputy Director General Felipe Rojas Jr., gave the go-signal for the winning bidder, the joint v‎enture of Autocirculo Corporation and Columbian Autocar Corporation (AC-CAC), to deliver the police vehicles.

Autocirculo Corp. is under a car distribution group importing Peugeot vehicles in the country, while Columbian Autocar Corp. is the exclusive distributor of Kia vehicles.

Rojas signed the Notice to Proceed on November 7, giving the nod to the car firms to deliver 210 units of personnel carrier with a P397.95 million contract price.

Each carrier has seats for at least 15 people.

Initially, the contract price was P451.5 million but the supplier reduced it to P397.95 million.

Augusto Camacho Jr. represented the AC-CAC joint venture.
