MANILA, Philippines—A fire extinguisher caused minor damage inside an oxygen refilling store after it suddenly exploded on Thursday afternoon in Project 3, Quezon City.
Luckily, no one was reported hurt in the incident, police said.

A year-old fire extinguisher exploded inside the shop that was packed with medical oxygen tanks. The refilling station is located on Molave street in Barangay (village) Duyan Duyan, said Police Inspector Noel Sublay, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Explosive and Ordnance Division head, in a phone interview.
“Maybe the extinguisher got exposed too much to sunlight,” he said.
As the fire extinguisher exploded, its fragments hit and shattered the glass windows of the shop.
“When we reviewed the CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) video in the establishment, no one touched the extinguisher. It just suddenly exploded,” he added.
Superintendent Jesus Fernandez, Quezon City Fire Marshall, said in a text message that the explosion damaged an estimated P30,000 worth of property.
Members of the QCPD bomb squad and Quezon City Fire Department are still in the area for further investigation.
