Purisima’s 10-ha property in Batangas bared but PNP chief says not

MANILA, Philippines–Aside from a sprawling 4.7-hectare house in Nueva Ecija, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Alan Purisima allegedly owns a 10-hectare land in Talisay, Batangas.
Revealed in an exclusive ABS-CBN report by Anthony Taberna, the land, from which a picturesque view of Taal Volcano is seen, was not declared in Purisima’s statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN).
The report said that based on the Civil Service Commission’s records, Purisima never included the land in his SALN since 2007 up to present.
Purisima reportedly acquired the land in Barangay Caloocan in 2007 after its title was transferred to his name and Oscarlito Mapalo, from a certain “Malabanan.”
The deed of sale obtained by ABSCBN indicated that the lot was worth P2 million.
But Purisima, though PNP spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wilben Mayor, denied buying the agricultural land.
“The Chief PNP denies these allegations and has no knowledge whatsoever about the acquisition or disposition of the said property,” Mayor said.
Mayor said Purisima has ordered an investigation as to how his name was dragged into the controversy.
Purisima also vowed to identify the person, or persons, behind the “scheme.”
