Kicking off December with a hat-trick, The Varsitarian, the official student publication of the University of Santo Tomas, will hold Inkblots 2014 from December 1 to 3 at the Thomas Aquinas Research Complex inside UST.
For this year’s instalment, Inkblots will focus on journalism’s new playing ground, the World Wide Web.
Inkblots, an annual National Campus Journalism Fellowship, will establish an environment, where in three days, students will learn the tricks of the trade from the country’s most revered journalists.
Seminars on sports writing, news writing, feature writing, Filipino and literary journalism, opinion, and sessions on broadcast journalism, photojournalism, page layout will fill students with the know-how in three days.
Speakers include INQUIRER.net editor-in-chief John Nery for online journalism, sports analyst Quinito Henson for sports writing, Kikomachine creator Manix Abrera for cartooning and author Eros Atalia for Filipino journalism.
A registration fee of P1,500 (inclusive of fellowship kit, food and freebies) is required with slots limited to a first-come, first-served basis.
The Varsitarian will hold opening cocktails on Dec. 1 and fellowship dinner on December 3.
