DSWD gets ISO tag

MANILA, Philippines–For meeting international criteria, five regulatory services of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) were recently certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The DSWD received the certification–valid for three years from Aug. 3, 2014, to July 19, 2017–from AJA Registrars Inc., an independent third-party certification body on Oct. 17.

The ISO 9001: 2008 certification covers five regulatory services of the DSWD’s standards bureau.

These were: Registration of auxiliary social welfare and development agencies; registration and licensing of social welfare agencies; accreditation of social welfare agencies’ programs and services; endorsement of duty-free entry; and national authority to conduct fund drives. –Julie M. Aurelio
