CEBU CITY—The police seized at least P11.8 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested a big-time pusher during raid on the suspect’s residence on an island off Buenavista town, Bohol
The police also seized a Garand rifle, .357 revolver, .9 mm pistol pistol and baby armalite with several assorted ammunition from Dominador Hera, 47, alias Jun Daot.

He was detained at the Camp Sergio Osmena, Police Regional Office in Central Visayas headquarters pending filing of charges and surrender to the court that issued an arrest warrant against him on previous charges.

Chief Supt. Prudencio Bañas, police director for Central Visayas, said the operation resulted in the seizure of close to a kilo of shabu with street value of P11.8 million, the biggest haul of illegal drugs in Region Seven.

Hera, the second-most wanted person in Central Visayas, was described by police as a level 2 pusher who could dispose weekly at least 200 grams but not more than one kilo of shabu.

Bañas said Hera would dispose his supply in Bohol as well as Cebu which was near Cabul-an. The source was believed to be in Muntinlupa, he added.

Bañas presented Hera during a news conference in Cebu City about 5 p.m. on Thursday, about 11 hours after his arrest on Cabul-an Island, Buenavista.

When asked to comment on the allegations leveled against him, Hera just cried and shook his head.

Hera had a pending arrest warrant on drug charges issued by Judge Macaundas Hadjirasul of the Regional Trial court on Aug. 23.

Supt. Marvin Sanchez, head of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Force (RAIDSOTF), said they received reports that Hera had settled on Cabul-an Island, which was two hours away from Cebu City on board a pump boat.

Armed with the arrest warrant, members of the RAIDSOFT team sailed to Cabul-an Island about 4 a.m. after receiving a tip that Hera was in his residence at that time.

But the suspect noticed the arrival of the police.

Hera allegedly placed the packs of shabu inside his bag and tried to escape.

But the policemen were able to collar him.

When his bag was inspected, Sanchez said the police were able to recover several packs of shabu which weighed a total of almost a kilo.

Bañas said the success of the operation was due to the cooperation of concerned citizens who tipped the police on the whereabouts of a drug pusher on the island.
