MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine National Police has inducted more than 3,000 rookies who will be dispatched to beef up their police visibility and anti-crime operations all over the country.
The 3,496 new policemen with the rank of PO1 (police officer 1), will be assigned to the regional public safety battalions in the police regional offices.
PNP chief Director General Alan Purisima said the rookies will beef up the existing deployment for law enforcement and public safety operations across the country.
Purisima said the oath-taking ceremonies were held in the 17 regional offices, with the new policemen getting a basic monthly salary of P14,834 with mandatory allowances and other noncash benefits worth P5,660 a month.
