MANILA, Philippines — President Benigno Aquino III personally inspected the passenger facilities of the Manila North Harbor in Tondo  Friday to check the preparations for the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day exodus over the weekend.

Aquino, along with Public Works Secretary Rogelio Singson, Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Francis Tolentino, and other government officials, inspected the passenger terminal complex of the Manila North Harbor as well as one ferry bound for Palawan.

In the passenger terminal complex, they inspected the help desks that are being manned by police, coast guard, and Marina personnel as well as the x-ray machines and metal detectors put in place for security.

Aquino boarded and inspected the MV St. Leo the Great which has a capacity of at least a thousand passengers but was only carrying around 500. It is bound for the provinces of Cebu, Butuan, and Agusan del Norte.
