MANILA, Philippines– Operations of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3) and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) will remain “normal” this weekend to accommodate passengers going to cemeteries to remember their departed loved ones.
MRT-3 spokesman Hernando Cabrera in a text message told INQUIRER.net that the railway systems would not have shortened trips this All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days (Undas).
Tighter security measures will also be implemented to ensure the safety of commuters.
Operating hours of the MRT-3, which runs the stretch of the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa) from North Avenue in Quezon City to Taft Avenue in Pasay City, start from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. this weekend.
The LRT-1, which runs from Roosevelt in Quezon City to Baclaran in Parañaque and the LRT-2 from Recto in Manila to Santolan in Pasig, operate from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.
