IP list-up as voters continues –Comelec
DAVAO DEL SUR, Philippines—The satellite voter registration for indigenous peoples (IP) continues in November with the registration of more IP groups in Mindanao, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
In a statement, the Comelec said members of the B’laan, Manobo and Tagakaolo tribes in Davao del Sur province could register as voters from Nov. 7 to Nov. 10 in Malita Poblacion.
The satellite voter registration for IP groups started on Oct. 26, with the registration of members of the Manobo and Matigsalug groups in Barangay Sunida, Kitaotao town, in Bukidnon province, the Comelec said.
Members of the T’boli and B’laan tribes were registered from Oct. 27 to 28 in Barangay Maan in T’boli, South Cotabato province.
The Subanen tribe of Zamboanga del Norte province; B’laan of Sultan Kudarat province; Matigsalug, Tinananon, Manobo and Bagobo tribes of North Cotabato province; Ata and Manobo tribes of Davao del Norte province; Ibaloi and Kankana-ey tribes of Benguet province, and the Agta and Kalinga tribes and Bago and Kankana-ey tribes of La Union province had their registration period from Oct. 26 to
