MANILA, Philippines—President Benigno Aquino III said Tuesday that the country’s economy grew by 7.6 percent last year and not 7.3 percent as earlier announced.
The President said the faster growth rate was the result of revised computations made by the Department of Finance.
“My critics say I’m not doing anything. So this must be manna from heaven,” he said in a speech at the inauguration of five new floors of the Sta. Ana hospital in Sta. Ana, Manila.
Mr. Aquino was referring to criticism by some quarters that he has not done much.
