Did you know: National Commission on Indigenous Peoples

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) was created through Republic Act No. 8371 signed on Oct. 29, 1997. The NCIP is the government agency that is tasked to formulate and implement policies, plans and programs for the recognition, promotion and protection of the rights and well-being of indigenous peoples with due regard to their ancestral domains and lands, self-governance and empowerment, social justice and human rights, and cultural integrity.–Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
