MANILA, Philippines–Two construction workers were hurt after fire hit a skyscraper that is being built at the upscale Rockwell Center, Makati City Monday afternoon.
Superintendent Ricardo Perdigon, Makati City fire marshal, said in a radio report that the still unnamed laborers have been brought to the Ospital ng Makati for treatment.
At 2:03 p.m. Monday, fire broke out in the basement area of Lopez Center Tower on Rockwell Drive in Barangay (village) Poblacion.
The fire, which reached first alarm, has not been put out yet by firefighters as of posting time.
Personnel from the Makati City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office have also responded to the area for rescue.
The cause of fire is still being determined by the investigators.
