MANILA, Philippines–The Supreme Court has rejected the four-day work week scheme.
In a one-page resolution, it adopted the recommendation made by high court’s Office of Administrative Services to deny the scheme proposed by the Civil Service Commission (CSC)-approved four-day work week scheme as a response to the worsening traffic situation.
Under the arrangement, government offices in the metropolis can voluntarily implement the new work schedule from Tuesday to Friday or Monday to Thursday.
Employees covered by the scheme will be required to work from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., taking an hour off for their lunch break.
“The Court resolved, upon the recommendation of the Office of Administrative Services, to deny the implementation of the four-day work week scheme in the Judiciary,” the resolution made public Monday stated.
