/ 07:11 AM September 25, 2011

THE SACRED HEART School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles marched to the finals of the Milo-backed BEST Twin Tournament as they blasted the University of San Carlos (USC)-South, 70-46, in the Passerelle division yesterday at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) gym in Lahug.

The Magis Eagles are thus primed for a chance at a fifth straight crown in the Cebu leg of this tournament, which serves as the qualifier for the regional competition slated next month in Capiz City.

Big man Dawn Ochea had another stellar outing as he paced his team with 11 points while John Jaboneta complimented him with 10. Ralf Camacion led USC-South with 14.

While Ateneo de Cebu had an easy time earning their ticket to the championship game, the University of the Visayas (UV) had to get its win the hard way as it leaned on the clutch shots of Paul Desiderio to repulse the hard-fighting University of Cebu (UC) Baby Webmasters, 60-56.
