MANILA, Philippines—Eastern Visayas and Mindanao will again have rains as the intertropical convergence zone continues to affect the region, the weather bureau warned.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has forecast cloudy skies with “light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms” over Eastern Visayas and Mindanao on Saturday.

The rest of the country will also have cloudy skies.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and the Ilocos region will have isolated light rains while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.

The Visayas and Mindanao experienced heavy rains in recent weeks due to the effect of the intertropical convergence zone, a weather system near the equator.

Pagasa said coastal waters over Luzon and Eastern Visayas will be moderate to occasionally rough, while the seas elsewhere will be slight to moderate.

The northeast monsoon meanwhile is affecting the extreme northern Luzon. Dona Z. Pazzibugan
