Binay in deep muck
A Pulse Asia survey shows that 7.9 out of 10 persons or 79 percent say Vice President Jojo Binay should attend the Senate blue ribbon subcommittee hearing looking into allegations that he stole money from Makati City residents when he was their mayor.
Binay has consistently turned down the invitation from the Senate subcommittee, saying the investigation is not in aid of legislation but “in aid of political prosecution.”
The Vice President has been leading in the surveys of possible presidential candidates in the 2016 elections.
In reaction to the Pulse Asia survey, Binay said he would bring his case to the Filipino people for them to judge him.
He will be in for a big disappointment.

If he makes direct consultations with the people, maybe 9.8 out of 10 persons or 98 percent will tell him to his face that he’s lying when he denies that he stole from his constituents in Makati when he was their mayor.
And because he doesn’t want to face the Senate, they will tell him he’s not fit to be President.
Binay is really in deep muck.

On my way to the office Tuesday morning, I was listening to a radio program where the two male hosts, one of whom speaks with a thick Visayan accent like me, asked listeners to phone in their comments.
Most of the comments from the public were not favorable to Binay.
Somebody said he used to admire Binay for serving his constituents in Makati well when he was their mayor, but now with all the charges of corruption leveled against him, his admiration has turned to disgust.
A woman, apparently a Fil-Am, called in from Chicago and said Binay should face the Senate.
A caller said Binay was a good man and would win hands down in 2016, but he sounded like he was paid by the Binay camp.
And then the hosts sang a portion of the song “It’s a Sin to Tell a Lie,” apparently a dig at Binay’s explanations.

Even Binay’s ally, Sen. JV Ejercito, is urging him to face the Senate. “He should answer the issue head-on if there’s a chance, if only to put the issue to rest,” Ejercito told reporters.
Ejercito is a son of former President and now Manila Mayor Erap who was Binay’s presidential candidate in the 2010 election. Erap was second to P-Noy among all the presidential candidates in 2010.

Lies and more lies continue to come from the Vice President to prove he’s innocent of the corruption charges against him.
Binay’s camp claims the President, during his meeting with the Vice President recently, offered his help in easing the discomfort Binay and his family were going through “from all the lies and baseless accusations,” especially against his wife Elenita Binay, herself a former mayor of Makati.
“Paano ako makakatulong (How can I be of help)?” Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla, Binay’s spokesman, quoted P-Noy as asking the Vice President.
There was no such offer, according to my little birdie at the Palace. (P-Noy has also denied the story.–Ed.)
How could the President have offered help to him when he admitted he had so many problems in his hands, said the source.
