Trillanes eager to face, challenge Binay’s alleged dummy

MANILA, Philippines—Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said he is eager to face and destroy the testimony of the Chinese-Filipino businessman, who was tagged as the dummy of Vice President Jejomar Binay, in his alleged 350-hectare property in Batangas.

Antonio Tiu was among those invited to appear before the Senate blue ribbon subcommittee when it resumes its investigation into the parking building controversy on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014.

“Magdemanda na s’ya kung gusto n’yang magdemanda, hindi  n’ya  makukuha yung apology kasi ipo-prove natin ‘yung allegation na s’ya nga ay dummy ni VP Binay,”  Trillanes told reporters when asked about  Tiu’s  alleged demand for an apology from those who claimed that he was the Vice President’s dummy.

(Sue us all he wants, but he will not get that apology because we will prove our allegation that he is the dummy of VP Binay.)

He said his camp would present evidence to destroy Tiu’s story.

Asked if the businessman had already confirmed his attendance on Wednesday, Trillanes said: “I believe so kasi atat na atat na kaming makita s’ya (because we are raring to see him).”

Senate Majority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano said he did his own research which showed that Binay was the real owner of the controversial 350-hectare property in Batangas province. He was quick to say though that he was ready to be proven wrong.

Asked if he had evidence that the property belonged to Binay, Cayetano said: “Baligtad nga e. Walang papel na mati-trace na kay Mr. Tiu ‘to pero lahat ng ebidensya so far shows sa mga Binay ito.”

(It’s the opposite. There are no documents that will show this property belongs to Tiu. All the evidence so far show the Binays own it.)

Cayetano said Tiu must also explain first the allegation against him before demanding an apology from them.
