MANILA, Philippines – Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. on Thursday called on boxing eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao to be more active in his duties as Sarangani Representative.

“I’m happy (with his win). But I wish he’d be more involved [in the House of Representatives],” Belmonte said in an interview on Monday.

On top of being a boxer and congressman, Pacquiao is playing-coach of the team Kia Sorento and played the first seven minutes of the game in the opener of the 40th Season of the Philippine Basketball Association.

Pacquiao figured among the top absentees in the chamber this year, with an attendance record of 38, but eight of his absences were due to “constituency work,” and only one was without notice.

Meanwhile, Pampanga Rep. Joseller “Yeng” Guiao, coach for Rain
or Shine in the PBA, attended 65 out of 69 session days.
