Bar examinees dropping out as test progresses

bar examMANILA, Philippines—As the Bar examination progresses, the number of aspiring lawyers is slowly dwindling.

Based on the statistical data from the Office of the Bar Confidant, of the 5,994 examinees who remained after the first week of the licensure examination, only 5,990 took the Civil Law test while 5,989 took the Taxation exam.

This year’s Bar examination that started last October 5 had a total of 6,344 candidates. However, 348 examinees were no-shows during the first day of the examination while two more dropped out that day.

For the third  Sunday  of examination set on  October19, the subjects will be Mercantile Law (Commercial Law) in the morning and Criminal law in the afternoon.
