PNP chief Purisma to turn over a thousand service firearms to Bicol police
LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines– Philippine National Police Chief Director General Allan Purisima is expected Friday morning here to turn over a thousand service pistols to the Bicol police.
Chief Superintendent Victor Deona, Bicol police chief, in a phone interview, said a highlight of Purisima’s visit to Camp Simeon Ola here at 9 a.m. is the turnover 1,022 pieces of Glock 17 firearms.
He said the distribution of the firearms is part of the PNP’s modernization program so every policeman in the country would meet the 1:1 or one gun for every policeman ratio.
He said Purisima would also turn over 500 pieces of VHF or handheld radios to the Bicol police.
