MANILA, Philippines–The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Friday destroyed about P2.2-million worth of seized chemicals and equipment used in manufacturing methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu.”

The materials were brought to Green Planet Management Inc. in Valenzuela City, a treatment facility accredited by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

“This will eliminate any misconception that these drug and nondrug (pieces of) evidence are being recycled for other purposes,” PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac said, noting that the disposal was covered by court orders.
