“All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy to torrential rains (Metro Manila), strong winds, lightning and possible flashfloods. Keep monitoring for updates,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said in an advisory.
Aside from Metro Manila, thunderstorm was also forecast in Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas and in other areas in Pampanga, Rizal, Laguna within the next two hours, Pagasa said.
“Visayas, the regions of Bicol, Zamboanga, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and the provinces of Palawan, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Sultan Kudarat and Cotabato will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms,” Pagasa said.
The province of Cagayan will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Typhoon Ompong, which is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility on Saturday, was last observed 785 kilometers east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.
