Today, Oct. 10, is the 30th death anniversary of former Chief Justice Ricardo Paras. Born on Feb. 17, 1891, Paras began his career in the judiciary in 1924. He was appointed associate justice of the Supreme Court on Dec. 24, 1941, and on April 2, 1951, he was named chief justice, a post he held for 10 years until Feb. 17, 1961.
