MANILA, Philippines—A lotto outlet in Quezon City lost P80,000 to a gun-wielding man who struck before the stall opened for business on Tuesday morning.
Reports reaching the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) headquarters in Camp Karingal said the lotto outlet owner, Marlon Marcos, went to the QCPD Station 10 in Kamuning, Quezon City, to report the robbery.
Marcos said that when he went to his lotto outlet on NIA Road in Barangay Pinyahan at 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, he found the teller, Christine Ronquillo, tied up and gagged inside the stall.
Ronquillo told QCPD Station 10 Chief Supt. Limuel Obon that she was going over the books at 7:40 a.m. when she heard someone knocking on the stall door. Thinking it was one of her regular bettors, she opened it. Instead, a man in a black helmet, black jacket and denim pants pointed a gun at her, pushed her inside the stall and tied her up.
The robber then took the outlet’s earnings totaling P80,000 before he escaped on a motorcycle, Obon said. Jaymee T. Gamil
