Firm lauds MMDA for improved Libis traffic
MANILA, Philippines—While replacing U-turn slots with traffic lights has resulted in heavier traffic on Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City, it has eased vehicular flow in Eastwood City, Libis.
During the Bulong Pulungan at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila in Pasay City on Tuesday, real estate developer Megaworld Corp. senior vice president Jericho Go thanked Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair Francis Tolentino for improving traffic in the area.
According to him, the flow of vehicles going to Eastwood has “greatly improved” over the past weeks, resulting in greater productivity for the company.
“My travel time from Eastwood City to Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City used to be one hour and 10 minutes but because of the new MMDA traffic scheme, it is now down to 20 minutes,” Go said.
“Our clients are now willing to go to Eastwood because of the reduced travel time and lighter traffic along C-5,” he added.
