Gov’t lawyers told to answer Napoles kids’ plea to nullify case

MANILA, Philippines–The Supreme Court ordered government lawyers to answer the petition filed by children of Janet Lim-Napoles that seeks to nullify the Ombudsman’ resolution that approved the filing of graft case against them.

In a two-page resolution, the high court gave the Office of the Solicitor-General 10 days upon receipt of the resolution to submit its comment.

Jo Christine and James  Christopher Napoles asked the high court to nullify the Ombudsman’s March 28, 2014 joint resolution and June 4, 2014 joint order that gave the green light for the filing of criminal case against them.

The siblings insisted that the Ombudsman committed grave abuse of discretion in filing the case.

The case against the Napoles siblings is pending before the Sandiganbayan Third Division.
