The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is offering a P50,000 reward for any information on the whereabouts of 29-year-old Michael Flores, the primary suspect in the brutal killing of Zenaida Sison, the mother of veteran actress Cherry Pie Picache.
Followup investigation showed that the man had been the subject of complaints for theft from his past employers in Las Piñas City and Cavite and Laguna provinces, but no formal charges were filed since he allegedly took only small items, according to QCPD spokesperson Senior Insp. Maricar Taqueban.
The 29-year-old Flores was one of Sison’s recent house helpers who reported for work at her Quezon City residence only at daytime. A native of Camotes Island in Cebu, he has not been seen at his known address on Quezon Street, Barangay San Miguel, in Taguig City since the Sept. 19 attack on Sison.
The 75-year-old victim—who preferred to live alone—was found dead with multiple stab wounds and head injuries, with a piece of cloth stuffed in her mouth, in the bedroom of her two-story house on Lazcano Street, Barangay Paligsahan.
The body was found by Picache and her driver. Her family later reported the loss of a cell phone and pieces of jewelry from the house.
The QCPD has yet to establish if Flores had an accomplice in the crime, Taqueban said Friday. Investigators can be reached at 0939-9067262, (02)9216146 or (02)9225177. Jaymee T. Gamil
