MANILA, Philippines — Trips of Metro Rail Transit (MRT) line 3 were cut short anew on Thursday morning due to broken rails in Boni Avenue station.
Since 8 a.m., only trains from North Avenue to Shaw Boulevard station and vice versa have been operational. Renato San Jose, the newly-appointed MRT-3 officer-in-charge, said in a radio interview.
This also means that trips from Shaw Boulevard to Taft Avenue station and vice versa are suspended.
San Jose said the broken rails on the southbound lane of Boni Avenue station caused the disruption.
He said the public would be advised of the resumption of operations as soon as possible.
Authorities have been under fire over the spate of disruptions in operations of the MRT-3, which have inconvenienced commuters.
