US Ebola patient is first diagnosed outside Africa
WASHINGTON–A man who traveled from Liberia to Texas is the first case of Ebola to be diagnosed outside Africa, US health authorities said on Tuesday.
“This is the first patient diagnosed outside of Africa to our knowledge,” Centers for Disease Control and Prevention chief Tom Frieden told reporters, adding that there was “zero risk” that anyone had been infected on the man’s flight.
