MANILA, Philippines—Retired military general and former congressman Jovito Palparan isn’t done with politics yet.
Palparan on Friday said his Bantay party-list is preparing a comeback in the 2013 midterm elections and he would be one of its nominees.
“If possible, I will run as party-list nominee,” Palparan told reporters at the Department of Justice.
Palparan served as Bantay party-list congressman in the previous Congress.
He said he wanted to return to Congress because of the “nagging problem of security.”
“Of course, our expertise (in security) would help in Congress. As I said, the Communist Party of the Philippines and the National Democratic Front are in Congress also,” he said.
