Storm over Pacific won’t make landfall—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The tropical storm over the Pacific Ocean may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday or Saturday but it is not expected to make landfall, the weather bureau said Tuesday.

Pagasa said that the new tropical storm would be named “Neneng” once it enters PAR.

As of posting time, the tropical storm has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 120 kph.

Pagasa added that the tropical storm would only make a brief run in the northern tip of the PAR near the eastern side of Taiwan.
