MANILA, Philippines–The car of a television reporter was reported stolen in Quezon City early Friday, police said.

Police Officer 2 Jonald Unida of the Quezon City Police Station 10 said TV5 reporter Jeff Caparas reported to police that his Honda Civic car with plate number TNT-637 was missing 5:30 a.m. Friday.

Unida said Caparas told the police that he had parked his car on Jamboree Street along Timog Avenue Thursday night, but only discovered the incident Friday morning when he came out to check his vehicle, but only found broken glass left in the parking area.

He immediately reported the incident to the Quezon City Police Station 10.  While Caparas was at the police station, officials of Barang (village) Sacred Heart called around 7:30 a.m. and informed the police about an abandoned car found in their barangay at 4:30 a.m. Friday.

Police responded to the report and confirmed that it was Caparas’ missing car found on the corner of Scout Rallos and Scout Ybardolaza.

Police found out that some parts of the car were missing including the wiper, stereo, side mirror and some of Caparas’ belongings.

Police investigators said they would request the CCTV of nearby establishments and the testimony of its security guards to help solve the case.
