Parts of Visayas, Mindanao to experience monsoon rain

pagasa-satpic-7am-0926MANILA, Philippines–Parts of the Visayas and Mindanao will be cloudy and experience light to moderate rains and thunderstorms on Friday due to the southwest monsoon that prevails over Mindanao, the weather bureau said.

“Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms,” the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Pagasa said the rest of the country including Metro Manila will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the southwest to west over Mindanao.

The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, Pagasa said.
