MANILA, Philippines — The water level in Marikina River on Saturday is now below the critical level, the local government said in an advisory.
It said the water level dropped to 16 meters as of 11 a.m.
It said 31,445 individuals or 6,806 families were affected and were staying in 39 evacuation centers in the city.
On Friday, the local government implemented a forced evacuation among its residents after the river’s water level reached critical level at 19 meters.
Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman also declared a state of calamity after floods from rain induced by Tropical Storm Mario swamped the city.
At least two were killed in the incident.
