DAR land distribution extended

MANILA, Philippines–The Senate has approved on third and final reading the measure that would allow the Department of Agrarian Reform to continue acquiring and distributing land covered by the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program for two more years.

Under the bill, the DAR will continue issuing notices of coverage for lands and accepting voluntary offers to sell by landowners of agricultural lands until June 30, 2016.–Leila B. Salaverria
