MANILA, Philippines — An inmate who escaped with eight others from a Quezon City jail this week was recaptured Thursday night, police said Friday.
Richard David, 32, was arrested in San Andres Bukid, Manila at around 10 p.m., said Senior Police Officer 2 Raymundo Paligutan of the Quezon City Police District 5.
David is back inside a detention cell at Station 5, along with six of his cohorts, in the pre-dawn jailbreak Wednesday, said Paligutan.
The QCPD has recaptured Pedro Perez, 40; Russel Catintay, 22; Romulus Bagnate, 30; Joel Gurobot, 24; Alex Francisco, 18; Richard Santos, 21; and David.
Paligutan said they were still looking for Severilio Soriano, 22, and Ernesto Ramasanta, 22.
Perez last week admitted to police that his girlfriend provided them with a hacksaw to use on the metal grills on their cell’s window.
