MANILA, Philippines — Ilocos Norte Representative Rodolfo Fariñas offered roses to Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago as “peace offering” after she walked out of the Commission on Appointments the previous week.

“I humbly believe that there’s no need for apology on either side. Instead, as usual, I hold out the hand of friendship,” Santiago said in a tweet following Fariñas’ offering Wednesday.

Santiago walked out from the hearing of the committee on foreign affairs of the Commission on Appointments after Fariñas questioned the lack of a quorum.
