New LPA spotted east of Visayas

MANILA, Philippines—Parts of the southern Philippines are expected to be rainy on Wednesday as a new low pressure area (LPA) was spotted east of the Visayan islands, the weather bureau said.

In its early-morning bulletin Wednesday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was tracked 1,070 kilometers east of the Visayas.

Pagasa said eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao region will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

The Pagasa forecast added that Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms.
