Court allows Gigi Reyes to take brain scan at PGH
MANILA, Philippines—The Sandiganbayan on Friday ordered the warden of the detention facility holding lawyer Jessica Lucila “Gigi” Reyes to bring her to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) on Monday to undergo brain scan.
In a minute resolution, the antigraft court’s Third Division also directed PGH director, doctor Jose Gonzales, to immediately provide Reyes the results of her magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance angiogram.
The court tasked Senior Insp. Jundelina Jagunap, warden of the female dormitory of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) at Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig City, to bring Reyes to the PGH at 3 p.m. on Sept. 15.
In a four-page manifestation, Reyes informed the court that doctor Carissa Dioquino, a neurologist from the PGH, would conduct the medical examination on her.
Reyes has been detained at the BJMP lockup since the court ordered her arrest on July 4 over her alleged role in the misuse of the pork barrel allotments of her former boss, detained Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile.

The antigraft court granted her petition four days later, but ordered Reyes to pay for all the medical procedures she needed.
In her petition, Reyes said she had been experiencing uncontrolled twitching of her right eye and cheek after the Aug. 5 incident.
