MANILA, Philippines–A female call center agent allegedly moonlighting as a drug peddler was nabbed by anti-narcotics agents in a buy-bust operation inside a fast-food restaurant along General McArthur Avenue in Cubao, Quezon City.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operatives arrested Jenny Tecson, alias “Jelai,” of Escopa IV village in Project 4, after selling a plastic bag of “shabu,” or methamphetamine hydrochloride to a poseur buyer.
The operation was made a day after PDEA agents seized on Monday P5 million peso worth of “shabu” from two suspected drug pushers also at a fast-food chain inside Ali Mall in Cubao.
Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac, PDEA director general, said in a Friday statement that Tecson is a watch-listed drug personality in Quezon City.
On Tuesday afternoon, Tecson sold in a buy-bust operation a transparent plastic bag containing white crystalline substance suspected to be “shabu,” weighing approximately 175 grams to a PDEA agent in exchange for the P500 marked bill.
A case for violating section 5, or selling dangerous drugs, under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 have been lodged against the female suspect.
