2 Malolos cops in kidnap try fall

‎MANILA, Philippines –The list of rogue cops goes on.

Two policemen assigned to the Malolos Police Station in Bulacan allegedly responsible for kidnapping a Chinese national in Caloocan City on Monday were arrested, according to Superintendent Donato Bait.

Bait, Malolos Police Station chief, identified to INQUIRER.net over the phone the alleged suspects as Police Officer 1 Danilo Sytamco and Police Officer 2 Xerxes Martin.

They allegedly kidnapped Lin Han Zhang near the LRT Monument station.

Bait said Sytamco and Martin would be turned over to the Caloocan City police on Friday morning.

Caloocan police’s chief, Senior Superintendent Ariel Arsinas, said ‎Zhang, 43, managed to escape from his captors and immediately sought help from the police.

Arsinas said the suspects were demanding a P3 million ransom in exchange for the release of Zhang, who is reportedly accused of being involved in illegal drugs operation.

Last week, eight Quezon City policemen, a Caloocan City policeman and a dismissed police ‎officer allegedly robbed and abducted two Lanao del Sur-based victims on Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (Edsa) captured by a motorist who uploaded it on social media.

On Thursday, two Eastern Police District (EPD) lawmen were also slapped with robbery and kidnapping with illegal detention charges ‎after purportedly took P73,000 in cash from a Pasig couple.
