Man with shabu nabbed at airport
MANILA, Philippines–A man who refused to be frisked by the airport security at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3 was arrested on Thursday; it turned out he was carrying sachets of a substance believed to be shabu.
The airport police identified the suspect who was then about to pick his wife from the airport as Lanco Sehawie Andi, 39, a resident of Marikina City.
According to a report reaching the Manila International Airport Authority, Andi went through the initial airport security check at the Gate 5 of the Naia 3 at 12:30 p.m.
When an employee of the Office of the Transportation identified as Janice Morales was about to do the routine body search, Andi refused.
Morales sought the help of the members of the airport police, who later found in one of Andi’s pockets a coin purse containing 10 sachets of white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu.
