SUBIC, Zambales— A worker was killed on Thursday in an accident at the shipbuilding facility of Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction Philippines Inc. here, a workers’ group said.
Jerwin Labajan, 23, who worked for the shipyard’s painting section, was crushed by the mobile elevated platform he was using inside the facility, according to Samahan ng mga Manggagawa sa Hanjin Shipyard.
He was the 38th worker to have been killed arising from accidents in the Hanjin shipyard. Hanjin officials have yet to issue a statement on the accident. Allan Macatuno, Inquirer Central Luzon
