MANILA, Philippines – Six people were killed and two others were injured on Saturday after a tricycle collided with a sports utility vehicle in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, a radio report said.
The collision happened along Maharlika Highway in Barangay (village) Larion Bajo past noon Saturday, the report said.
The report quoted Police Superintendent Julius Ordoña as saying that all the fatalities were passengers of the tricycle.
Ordoña identified the SUV driver as Resty Pillos, 43, who tried to overtake another vehicle, but collided with the tricycle.
Pillos is now in police custody for investigation.
